FAQs

  • Starting 3/1/25, I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.

No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimates: Effective January 1st, 2022, the No Surprises Act is a federal law that protects people from unexpected medical bills. (More information: CMS)

If you do not use health insurance, then healthcare providers (including therapists) must give you a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) at least 3 business days in advance of your appointment. A Good Faith Estimate will be made available to you upon scheduling or upon request.

Please note: A Good Faith Estimate is not a bill, but is a a list of expected charges for a provider’s services. You should save this document to compare it to your bill.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 greater than your Good Faith Estimate, then you can dispute the bill.

I am also able to provide a superbill upon request, which you can provide to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement depending on your insurance coverage. Please contact your insurance company directly to learn more about your benefits and reimbursement process, if applicable.

  • During the initial intake appointment (50 min), I will ask several questions to help me to begin understanding what makes you you, and what reasons bring you to therapy. If helpful, I may use evidence-based screening tools and questionnaires to measure the severity of symptoms. You are also welcome to ask me questions to get to know me, my therapeutic approach, and anything else that would help you determine if I am a good fit for what you’re looking for in a therapist. By the end of the intake appointment, we will both determine if this feels like a good fit for us to continue working together, and if so, collaborate on defining next steps.

Ongoing appointments (50 minutes) will be scheduled weekly or biweekly. The content of ongoing appointments can range widely depending on what we decide to work on together, as well as what you would like to bring to each session.

  • Please provide at least a 24-hour advance notice for cancelling an appointment. Full payment due for late cancellations (within 24 hours) and missed appointments, with exceptions made for emergency situations.

  • I accept payment via credit card. Payment is due at time of appointment.

  • Sessions will be conducted via telehealth. After scheduling your appointment, you will receive a link via email to join the session.

In between sessions: We will communicate via email or phone. All messages will be returned within 1-2 days, with the exception of weekends, holidays, and times when I am away.

  • If you are experiencing an emergency, please call the 988 Lifeline or visit your local emergency room.
